One step forward, Two steps back

Well the store has been doing much better than I expected. Business has grown slowly and had reached 2 or 3 orders a day.

Looking to improve traffic to the store I started working on SEO or Search Engine Optimization. After a lot of research, several trial runs and two weeks of work I finally got my product pages for shoes to show up at or near the top of the list in Google Shopping searches most of the time. Now all I had to do was sit back and wait for the flood of orders. It had to happen. I was absolutely the lowest price vendor and was top of the list in Google! I could see my retirement account overflowing with gold!

Just one little problem.... Traffic dropped 90% and orders have been non-existent in the week since. This was not the result I had hoped for.

Did I do something else besides the SEO that caused this to happen? So far I haven't figured out the problem. I'm going to put things back the way they were two weeks ago and see what happens.

Other than this latest glitch, the store has been a real delight. I've been fortunate to develop online friendships with some customers and have corresponded with folks from all over the world.

If anyone has an idea what may be causing this marketing disaster, drop me a line.

Pat
